In HIS Hands

"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God who weighs our hearts & keeps our souls, knows what we know, & holds us responsible to act." ~Proverbs 24:12

Beautiful Sunshiny Days...

Oh, it has been so nice out the last few days. The wind has been a bit blustery but not bad at all. The sunshine and temps in the upper 30's even 40's has done wonders for me! We have enjoyed riding bikes and scooters on our nice clear driveway and street, we even went for a walk. The kids just loved it and I enjoyed their laughter! Dane is known to love and beg for food on a regular basis (something we are still working on) and I could not even get him to come in for lunch with out him having a small fit. It was just too nice to come in.

Please hurry spring, we miss you!!

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." ~Luke 12:34.

Syndactyly is a term to describe webbed fingers or toes. In most cases the webbing is only skin, but in some cases, the bone may be fused together. Surgery is performed to correct the condition.

Polydactyly literally means "extra digits." There may be an extra thumb, small finger, or, less commonly, an extra digit in the central part of the hand. Polydactyly is one of the most common congenital hand anomalies.

Microtia is an incompletely formed ear. It ranges in severity from a bump of tissue to a partially formed ear. In most cases, only one ear is affected. In that case, it is called Unilateral Microtia. If both ears are affected, it is called Bilateral Microtia. In addition to the physical characteristics, there is a possiblitiy of some or all of these problems: About a 40% reduction of hearing in the affected ear, problems locating the direction from which a sound comes and ear infections.

Atresia, (also known as aural atresia) is the absence or closure of the external auditory ear canal. The middle ear bones (incus, stapes, and malleus) may be malformed including the narrowing of the ear canal, known as canal stenosis. Atresia is Latin for absence of an opening. An Atretic ear is often sealed off by the skull with no opening (canal) being present. Atresia is a congenital birth defect. There are varying degrees of middle ear bone abnormalities.
Thalassemia Major or Cooley’s Anemia- This is the most severe form of beta thalassemia in which the complete lack of beta protein in the hemoglobin causes a life-threatening anemia that requires regular blood transfusions and extensive ongoing medical care. These extensive, lifelong blood transfusions lead to iron-overload which must be treated with chelation therapy to prevent early death from organ failure.

Some Would

Some would gather money
Along the path of life,
Some would gather roses,
And rest from worldly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin,
For money cannot enter
In that land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way.
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me!
