Weekend Fun!

We had a great weekend! We sure enjoyed the sunshine! My house is a disaster but I will take fun over a clean house any day! The kids (and us too) spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa AND Papa and Nana! Also, spent some time with some good friends! I did not get my flowers planted like I hoped, but we did get our 4 ugly bushes out! Thank you Daddy!! Also got some weeding done, thank you Preston!
Oh, I can't wait for school to be out, summer to be here and of course, the arrival of Dane!! Here are some pictures of the kids helping Daddy pull the bushes out back to the woods.

Girls getting dirty

We also enjoyed time playing outside with our kids and the neighborhood kids. At one point we had 9 kids here! And of course the ice cream truck had to come buy...so thanks to Grandpa, a friend of mine and the couple dollars I had in my pocket, all 9 kids were able to get a treat! FUN! FUN!

I also spent a fair amount of time getting ready for our BIG garage sale this weekend. All the proceeds are going towards our adoption, so please pray for good weather and a great turn out!

Oh, I almost forgot. Our I-600 form arrived at the National Visa Center (NVC) on the 11th. The NVC then sends our paperwork to Korea, who then completes the rest of the paperwork on their side and sends it back...then we get our travel call. Hopefully we will get our TC in the next 4-6 weeks! Like I said, I can't wait! ~Becca

Good things happening

Well, we received word yesterday that our I-600 (permission to bring Dane to the U.S.) was approved on Monday the 10th!! I will breathe easier when we actually get the approval letter in the mail. Now our I-600 approval will go to the NVC (National Visa Center) who then forwards it to Korea, who then finishes the other required documents for him to travel home. Hopefully we will get a travel call in the next 6-8weeks. Of course anytime would be great too!
Danes baby/memory book arrived today along with the maternity clothes that I ordered for Holt's (Korean agency) maternity shelters! I can't wait to start on Danes's book! And I definitely can't wait to bring our donations to Korea and meet our son. The wait seems to be getting harder and harder everyday! As David says, "Everyday it gets closer, right Mom?"
Here's a pic. of our cutie with his care package. I had to block out his foster mom for privacy reasons.

Zoo pictures and a few others

SORRY FOR THE SIDWAYS PICTURES...I FORGOT TO EDIT THEM BEFORE I SAVED THEM! LOL

Trip to the zoo and good news!

I will start with the good news first. We received a call from Congressman Hoekstra's office on Friday, our I-600 should be approved by Monday 5/10!! We are hoping this is true. Hoekstra's office has been absolutely wonderful! Thank you Congressman Hoekstra and staff!
We took a trip to the John Ball Park Zoo today. Some friends of ours had a birthday party for their daughter there. Despite the cold weather we had a great time; we even got to pet the sting rays :)!

Updates and stuff...

Oh, where to begin...Joel's said that I left a few important things out of my first posting. And I suppose I did. So, here is an update of some old news, we decided to name our little guy Dane Eun-jun. Naming him was quite a challenge for many reasons, but we are very happy with his name. We sent him a care package back in April. We were very excited to receive a pic. of him with his foster mom and his package! Thanks to everyone who prayed that his package would get to him, as there was no guarantees that it would. We did get a well baby check report at the same time and he is doing well!! He is a chunky little guy! We purchased a "new to us" dresser about a week ago. I got it re-painted and it looks great. We now have a dresser for Dane in David's room. I still have not put his clothes in it...I am not quite ready I guess. I did order a baby memory book too. Adoption memory books are really hard to find. I am hoping it will be here soon.
New news...I received an email 2 days ago from the National Benefit Center ,aka NBC,(our I600 was forwarded there...new system), they have our I600!! WHHOOHOOO! It should be assigned to an officer by the end of the week, if it wasn't yesterday. They hope to have a decision made in 15 days, as long as they have everything they need. I have to say the NBC staff is very helpful and really nice :)
We recieved a list of donations that were needed for Holt Childrens Services and their 5 pregnancy shelters. Alaina really wanted to help, so her and I went shopping last night for baby clothes and supplies, lotions, and maternity clothes. We had a great time. Thank you to Kohls and Target! They had lots on clearance for under $5! When we got home Livi was bummed b/c she didn't go. So, I took her this a.m. and we picked up a toy and some infant rice cereal (rice cereal not avail. in Korea). We feel it is the least we can do! Here are a couple pics. of the girls. OK...so I did want the pics. at the bottom of the post. LOL!

My first post...here we go!

OK, after lots of prompting I finally decided to start a blog. I can not promise anything, as technology and I do NOT get along. And also, I have never been good with words, but I decided to give it a shot.
As most of you know we are in the waiting for a TC (travel call) stage of our adoption. Our little guy is now 9 1/2 mo. old. This journey has not been easy at all. But we have been blessed beyond words!! We have seen the hands, feet, and face of Jesus more throughout this year for sure. I can't even put it into words.
Here is the latest... First, I will start with our most recent frustration. Our I600 (permission to bring Dane into the US) form was sent back to us after sitting for 30 days at the USCIS (United States Citizen & Immigration Services). Uugghhh! I was told it would be another 45 days to get it assigned to someone plus processing time. Not what we wanted to hear, since this is the biggest part holding us up for our travel call! We contacted congressman Pete Hoekstra and he has offered to help! Thank you!!
On a lighter note, we had our benefit spaghetti dinner and that was a success for sure! Thank you to everyone who helped and donated!! The donations exceeded our expectations! We also received a $3,000 grant and we had a very generous person donate another $5,000. So, total we have raised just over $9,100!! All in a week and a half! God is sooo good!! A very dear friend of mine told me, "It must be getting close, good things are starting to happen!" I hope so. But for now we wait and trust in God's perfect timing. Some days are easier than others! Well, that is it for now. I promise to post some updated pics. when I get a chance.
